Chapter 5
Why we are going public

For a long time, Ventus Energy deliberately chose not to publicly comment on these events.
Our priority remained focused on continuing business operations, developing energy infrastructure projects and protecting the interests of our lenders and investors.
At the same time, we actively cooperated with law enforcement authorities and provided all relevant materials and information connected to the events described in this document.
However, over time, the attacks continued escalating and increasingly began affecting the company’s operations, financing environment, counterparties and ongoing project development activities.
In our opinion, the situation reached a point where remaining silent was no longer a responsible option.
That is why we decided to publicly document the broader sequence of events and explain why we believe these incidents represent far more than ordinary criticism or isolated conflicts.
We understand the importance of legitimate investor scrutiny and critical discussion.
However, we also believe it is important to distinguish between normal public criticism and coordinated activities aimed at damaging a company’s operations, destabilising its business environment and interfering with its ability to continue developing projects and fulfilling obligations towards lenders.
Due to the ongoing criminal proceedings, we are unable to publicly disclose all available evidence and materials at this stage. Relevant information has already been submitted to law enforcement authorities and forms part of the active investigation.
Regardless of the outcome of the criminal investigation, we remain fully committed to recovering the funds invested in our energy portfolio and repaying our creditors to the greatest extent possible.
