Intro
Over the last several months, Ventus Energy has experienced a growing series of attacks targeting both the company and the people connected to it.
At first, these incidents appeared to be isolated criticism, negative online commentary and aggressive public narratives. Over time, however, the situation escalated far beyond ordinary criticism.
What initially appeared to be individual attacks gradually evolved into a broader, increasingly coordinated campaign involving reputational pressure, direct threats, extortion attempts, interference with business relationships, and efforts to disrupt the company’s operations and ongoing project development.
Several incidents gathered by us were serious enough for Estonian law enforcement authorities to evaluate the available facts and open a criminal case investigation.
Due to the active criminal investigation, we are currently limited in how much evidence, communication records and investigative material we can publicly disclose. Relevant materials and evidence have already been (and are continuously being added as new case materials appear) submitted to law enforcement authorities.
Several of the incidents described in this document are supported by screenshots, communication records and documentary materials already included in the criminal proceedings.
For a long time, we deliberately chose not to publicly comment on these events. Our focus remained on continuing business operations, developing projects and protecting the interests of our lenders and partners.
However, in recent months, the attacks have continued to escalate, increasingly affecting the company’s operations, financing environment, counterparties, and project development activities.
Based on the information available to us, we no longer believe these events are random or isolated but rather well-organised and planned actions.
The pattern increasingly indicates a deliberate attempt to damage Ventus Energy’s reputation, disrupt the company’s business operations and interfere with its ability to continue developing projects, refinancing obligations and repaying mezzanine lenders.
We will summarise the main events and developments that led us to this conclusion. While the police are investigating the criminal case, we leave readers to draw their own conclusions.
What these "files" contain
